We're in Trouble Now!!

Mason is all over the place. He's only really been crawling for a little over a week and he has just taken off. He's pulling himself up on everything. His favorite place to stand is at the TV stand. He managed to get away from me after his bath before I could get any clothes on him last night.

our summer

We have been enjoying our summer a lot. It has been so nice to be able to stay home with Mason and enjoy him and all the changes he is going through. He is now 8 1/2 months old!! I cannot even believe where all the time went. He is a healthy happy boy that provides us with lots of entertainment :) Between his clapping, smiling, blowing raspberries, talking and rolling around, we are so blessed to be able to have him in our lives. Mason now has four teeth, two top and two bottom. He is consistently sleeping through the night, which feels great. Here are some pictures from summer so far. Mason is so tired from a long day in the sun. Here he was sitting outside on the deck watching daddy mow the lawn. He loves to be outside! He looks pooped.

This was last weekend when we visited my parents in Seattle. Mason was outside with grandpa on the deck. He is clapping for me.

This is what summer is all about. No shoes, no shirt, no problems. Just a diaper outside on the deck in the summer weather, sucking on some watermelon.

A few weeks ago, we went to watch one of Auntie Hannah's volleyball tournaments. Mason fell asleep in grandmas arms.

Is summer here yet?

Spokane is usually really hot in the summer time. And June is supposed to be summer! We'll we've had a hit and miss month of June in terms of weather. On Saturday J.D. and I took Mason to the pool for the first time and he loved it! At first he was little hesitant, but then he started smiling and laughing. We're planning on making the pool a regular occurrence for our summer months!

Just two days later on Monday it was pouring down rain. Mason loves to be outside so I decided to get him all bundled up in his rain gear and go outside. Our neighbors had some heavy equipment digging a big hole in their backyard for a pool so we went to check out the cool machines. He loved watching it and he loved the rain too!

Then, two days after the crazy rain it was nice again so we went to the pool with Autie Hannah and Grandma Mishal. This time we got his floaty toy blown up and he went floating.

Meet Ginny!!

About a week ago we flew over to Seattle to visit my family and meet my brother and sister-in-law's little 2 month old daughter, Ginny for the first time. We had a blast catching up with them and sharing converstations both as new parents.

Mason loves to look out the window or be outside. If he is fussy just take him outside and he calms down. He pretty much looked out the airplane window the whole time during both flights over and back from Seattle. He's just like his daddy...loves to be outside. :)

Mason is a good eater...he'll even eat the table...just kidding. I was feeding him some food when we were out to lunch and he thought the table would taste good too I guess. Probably not the most sanitary thing to be sucking on, but oh well, it makes for a cute picture.

Mason loves to play with Starbucks cups. He likes to put the straw in his mouth but hasn't figured out how to suck any liquid out of it.

Here is a picture of Ginny. She is so calm and sleeps a lot. But when she is awake she smiles all the time. We had so much fun with Chris, Lindsay and Ginny... and my parents. It probably won't be until Christmas before we are all together again. By then Ginny will be crawling and Mason will be walking. They won't be so little anymore and will probably be a little bit more of a handful.

This is a video of Mason rolling over for the first time at 4 months. He is now almost 7 months and hardly ever rolls over. The most common place for him to roll over is in his crib :)

Food!!

Mason has started to eat real food, not just breast milk. He actually started a while ago, but I have been so busy with work, I haven't gotten a chance to post anything. He loves his rice cereal. He will easily eat 1/2 cup and drink milk!! I think he is starting to like solids more than breast milk, which can make it difficult at times, because breastmilk or formula is suppossed to be the main source of calories until they are one. this weekend, when he turns 6 months, he will start eating fruits too!

Road trip

Last week we took a road trip with Grandma Mishal and Auntie Hannah to Moses Lake to visit some family. Here are some photos Hannah took while she was entertaining Mason on the trip home.

Soccer Tournament

Last weekend I had a soccer tournament in Pasco with my U-13 girls team. J.D. and Mason came along. He was amazing the entire trip. He was great on the two hour trip there and back. He was in a happy mood at the games and slept well at night. Here is a photo of him all bundled up for one of the games.

Mason loves being with daddy. J.D. has been so busy with tax season so it's a treat when Mason and him get to just relax and hang out.

Mommy and Baby Class

Since Mason has been two weeks old, we've been going to a mommy and baby class at the hospital where he was born. It is lead by a nurse and it's a fun time for moms and their babies to get together. We discuss different topics (nursing, introducing solids, car seat safety) and enjoy talking with each other. I love going but haven't been able to go much recently because of work. Here are some photos taken about a month ago of Mason and some of the other babies from group.

Almost 4 Months!

Mason is now 16 weeks old and will be four months old next week. He giggled about 2 weeks ago with J.D. He is smiling all the time now. He is getting so big. He weighed just over 16 pounds this week! He can sit up in his Bumbo chair now and has good neck control.

He had a few rough weeks of sleeping at night, but I think we are back on track now...at least I hope. This past week has been good, where he has been sleeping longer stretches. The longest stretch he's made was 9 hours!

I can't believe he is this old already. It is amazing how fast they grow up and change right before your eyes.

Mason went to a lot of basketball games this past winter, becuase his auntie Hannah plays basketball at Northwest Christian. He loved the games and was always on his best behavior there. Here are some pictures from the season.

Mason's Two Month Checkup

Here is a picture of our little Mason, well not quite so little. At his two month checkup he weighed 13lbs 4 ounces and was 24.5 inches long. He was in the 90% for both weight and height. He got his first round of shots at his two month appointment. We contemplated a lot about what shots, if any to get at his two month appointment, but went with the advice of our pediatrician who recommended two shots. He recieved the PCV shots and a Pentacel shot which is a combination of DTaP, IPV, and HIB. We were concerned about the potentially high amount of aluminum he might be getting at such a young age, but the amount that was in all his two month shots was very low compared to many other combinations of shots.

Mason on the Move

Mason has been talking up a storm and moving around like crazy. He is always in the best mood right after he finishes eating; that's the best time to talk with him. J.D. talks to him every night before he goes to bed.

New to Blogging

I am new to blogging, so at the beginning there won't be anything fancy. However, I have been meaning to add posts about Mason, so sorry it has taken 11 weeks to get anything substantial up about him.
